Frankfurt (dpa) - Computer manufacturer Dell is going to put its thinnest notebook ever on sale on Tuesday. The XPS 14z also has a particularly narrow frame around the display, allowing a 14-inch monitor in a housing designed for a 13.3-inch display. Dell has also managed to squeeze a DVD burner, USB 3.0 connection and an illuminated keyboard into the 23-millimetre-thick device. The processors are from Intel's i5 or i7 series, while the graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce GT 520M. The XPS 14z starts at 899 euros (1,235 dollars).

Acer's new monitor has integrated TV receiver

Berlin (dpa) - Acer's new M2 monitor series switches from being a computer monitor to a television with the push of a remote control button. The most affordable version, the 21.5-inch M222HQML, costs 199 euros. Receivers for digital cable and DVB-T come included. The monitors support resolution of 1,920 X 1,080 pixels (full HD). The largest of the series - the M272HML, measuring 27 inches - costs 349 euros (480 dollars). The series is already on sale.
